An awards ceremony without laughter is an awards ceremony wasted, or so the Y Design Awards judges thought when they nominated the Comedy England website.

Held last night at The Royal Festival Hall, the event saw an expert panel cast their eyes over the UK's best digital design – and Redhouse Lane landed a spot in the top three for best use of open source technology.

Head of Interactive Eddie Finch-Hawkes said: “We chose a content management system solution that would create the best possible user experience. Every piece of content on the site could belong to several categories, offering users multiple points of entry.”

Part of the London Design Festival, the ceremony saw hundreds of London agencies turn up to mingle and check out the best of the best. Hundreds of submissions are made to the annual awards from creative agencies across the UK.
